A Little More About Sharon D Parry

I was born in the USVI (United States Virgin Islands). Came to Florida about the age of 5. Lived in Downtown Miami Dade (Overtown), in a rat infested falling apart apartment building. Where the bathtub fell through the floor into our apartment from the unit above. Moved later on to another Overtown apartment, on the top floor. Lived in the high crime area for a very long time with my mother and two older siblings.

Fast forward many years to when I was 14 years old.
First family home.

My mom always dreamed of owning her own home. I had a scarcely present dad, so my mom bought her first home on her own with the grace of God. My mom lived there until she died in May of 2011. I continued to live there with my sister, but it didn’t last long.

Homeless

I’ve lost my mom’s first Florida home. This is where it gets confusing. Eventhough my mom saved over 10 thousand dollars, she needed a cosigner. My mom worked side hustles and got paid in cash. So the only person she could beg for help was her husband aka my scarce dad. When my mom died , she left a will leaving the house to me. I submitted the living will to HUD because she went through their program. I was paying for the house and taxes  since I was 16 years old. But when my mom died, they said they can not longer accept my money.

HUD is NOT like a bank

Long story, short
HUD let me know that they are not like a bank. I only had 16 thousand dollars left on the mortgage. They told me to get a legal aid lawyer.
But legal aid told me HUD had to add my name to the mortgage for them to fight for the house for me. HUD told me they couldn’t add me without legal aid. In the end the house was sold from under me to a real estate investor and I was evicted.

Where was I supposed to go?

My oldest brother came to the rescue. Me, my sister, my daughter and my niece moved into my brother’s one bedroom apartment in Kendall. We couldn’t stay for long. My awesome brother wanted us to stay but management would not allow 6 people in a 1 bedroom. We were homeless for over 2 years, living in my 2015 Mazda  CX5. Four females, two dogs and a turtle.

Story Break

Isn’t Torch Cute.
Over 2 Years
Over 2 years homeless. We lived in my car, couch surfed, in a garage and in a women’s shelter. But thank God, we were never alone. God brought different people to help as I started learning how to love myself as much as I loved other people. It was at that time of homelessness I decided to not only read the Bible but apply it to my life. I started saving with what I had. 8 cents. Now I have several bank accounts, stocks and adding real-estate to my portfolio.

How can I continue Building wealth without helping you.
